Company background

PRé Consultants was founded in 1990 by Mark Goedkoop. PRé has since been a leader in shaping and supporting Life Cycle thinking and LCA. PRé is a trusted partner for hundreds of companies, helping design and implement an integrated approach to measuring, managing and improving environmental performance for our customers. Since 2011 PRé also has an office in Washington, DC: PRé North America.

PRé develops state of the art LCA software, moving theory into practice. We have been recognized for contributing to important developments in LCA methodology and life cycle research. PRé has always been at the forefront of LCA tools and methodology developments. Our methodology and clear accounting ensure the highest level of quality and transparency in our Life Cycle analyses for our customers. PRé developed the most widely recognized and applied impact assessment methods ReCiPe & Eco-Indicator 99.

We believe it is our responsibility to actively contribute to programs that aim to increase transparency in data and methodology. That’s why PRé is a Tier 1 member of The Sustainability Consortium. We are involved in the PCR Round Table, and PRé represents The Netherlands in the ISO Carbon and Water Footprint standards. We sponsor programs such as the UNEP Lifecycle Initiative and are a founding member of Earthster.
