Applying LCA Methodology for Lavazza and ArperItalian Partner 2B Supports National Museum With Application of LCA Methodology

2B has supported the companies Lavazza and Arper applying the LCA methodology, assuring the observance of ISO standards that regulate life cycle assessment. The LCA methodology is applied in order to measure the environmental impacts of their products, using the results as a guidance for their ecodesign activities. For both companies, this approach represents an opportunity to extend environmental awareness to all the players along the supply chain and to promote a shared commitment for the development of improved solutions. For both case studies, process trees were created, using SimaPro sustainability software.

The National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan is the most important museum of Science in Italy, and one of the most important museums of Science in Europe. Last Friday September 27th, the museum organized a European Researchers' night in the recently renovated exhibition on the life cycle of products. 2B owner, Beatrice Bortolozzo, has given a presentation about the secret life of things and the two case studies with the SimaPro process trees. Lavazza, Italy's largest coffee producer, presented the case study "Life Cycle of the A Modo Mio System". The presentation was very well received by the audience.  The products, together with the process trees, are also displayed at the exhibition.
