This biodiversity footprinting training course provides you with an introduction to the important topics of biodiversity footprinting – going beyond carbon footprinting to determine further species and ecosystem impacts.
During the training you will learn how to quantify biodiversity impacts on both an investment level (screening) and project-specific level (detailed). You will put theory into practice through exercises and have the skills to conduct a biodiversity footprint independently with SimaPro.
The trainers
Introduction to biodiversity and LCA: Basics of biodiversity and LCA and how to include biodiversity using an LCA approach
Biodiversity footprinting core concepts: explanation of the methodology
SimaPro basics: setting up a calculation and basic navigation of the software
Goal and scope definition: you will understand the different levels of assessment and solve an exercise
Inventory analysis: you will learn what are the applicable data and databases and put these into practice through an exercise
Impact assessment: you will learn how resource and emissions inputs relate to biodiversity impact categories and solve an exercise
Interpretation: you will learn how to analyze your results
Please note: the course includes 2 in-person sessions of 8 and 4 hours respectively. For traveling to the venue, we encourage you to use sustainable transportation whenever possible.
